If you don't know Erik Douds, you should get to know him. At 16, he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Now, at the age of 26, Erik is living proof that diabetes has no bounds. As the Founder of Diabetes Abroad, he has built a growing community of people with Type 1 Diabetes and non-T1D adventurers alike, rallying people around the belief (and knowledge) that being T1D is far from a life sentence. For Erik, his diagnosis lit a fire within him to make the best of something he couldn't have planned for or predicted. This week, Erik, a sustainability buff, endurance athlete, and world traveler who happens to be T1D, completed a bike ride across the United States.

Watch (or, because Erik's often on a bike and can't always watch, listen via Soundcloud) to hear his story. If you like it, share with someone you know and be sure to tag 180º of Impact at @LetsYouCare on Facebook and Twitter.
